FAQs
-
Yes. Classes are welcoming for beginners and improvers.
In the Bone Density Training class I cannot give individual corrections online, so it is helpful, though not essential, to have some understanding of the Pilates method.
-
For Hammersmith Pilates classes, bring a mat, wear comfortable clothes, and ideally a more fitted top so I can see your spine and alignment clearly. Bare feet or socks are both fine; socks don’t need to be grippy.
For the online Bone Density Training Class, you’ll need your laptop/phone, a mat, a couple of dumbbells, and a sturdy chair/step. Wear trainers and have water to hand.
-
Absolutely — my classes are open to everyone. Strength-based Pilates is especially beneficial for men who may have limited flexibility or core instability from other sports.
While less common than in women, osteoporisis remains a significant health concern, with 1 in 5 men over 50 expected to experience an osteoporotic (fragility) fracture in their lifetime. The Bone Density Training class will be helpful.
-
Yes. Classes can be purchased on a pay-as-you-go basis, space permitting. But please reserve a space in advance. NB Clients with block bookings will be given priority.

I offer modifications and supportive options throughout every class.
However, some more complex conditions are better managed in 1:1 sessions, especially if you’re completely new to Pilates. If you’re recovering from back pain or a recent flare-up, you might find the 6-Week Back Health Programme more supportive to begin with.
-
All you need is a mat and a laptop, tablet or phone with enough space to lie down comfortably.
Position your camera so I can see most of your mat, allowing me to keep an eye on you.
No special setup is required: simply click the Zoom link and join from home.
-
Not at all. Pilates helps you build strength, mobility and confidence gradually. You simply start from where you are.
My Bone Density Training class is more physically demanding, but adaptable — I’ll set the pace but offer modifications throughout.
-
You’ll be absolutely fine. My classes are calm, steady and thoughtfully paced. You’re always encouraged to move in a way that feels right for you.
-
In-person classes are small, around 8–10 people, so you receive clear cueing, tactile guidance and careful observation throughout.
